This is a KP/KD/KS/KX series pressure-type mechanical thermostat, a core temperature control component in refrigeration equipment such as refrigerators and freezers. It controls the compressor's start and stop through a purely mechanical structure.
Working Principle:
Its core principle utilizes the physical mechanism of liquid thermal expansion and contraction and pressure-driven contact switches:
I. Temperature Sensing: The temperature-sensing bulb (the probe at the end of the capillary tube) is fixed near the refrigerator evaporator and filled with a volatile temperature-sensing liquid (such as isobutane).
II. Pressure Conversion: When the temperature inside the refrigerator rises, the liquid in the temperature-sensing bulb evaporates, increasing the pressure; when the temperature drops, the gas condenses into liquid, decreasing the pressure.
III. Switching Action: Pressure changes are transmitted through a thin capillary tube to the bellows inside the thermostat, pushing the mechanical structure to control the opening and closing of the main contacts, thereby starting and stopping the compressor.
IV. Manual Adjustment: The adjustment shaft on top can change the preload of the internal spring, thus setting different temperature control levels.
