This is a copper-head flanged water heater heating element with an integrated thermostat (commonly known as an adjustable temperature water heater heating rod). It is a combination of a standard immersion heating element and a mechanical thermostat (thermostat), specifically designed for use in storage-type electric water heaters, small kitchen water heaters, and solar-assisted heating systems.
