High Purity Mg Anode Rod Universal Magnesium Rod for Solar Water Heater 

The Solar Water Heater Parts Magnesium Rod, also known as the Anode Rod, is an important component in the storage electric water heater used to prevent corrosion of the metal tank and soften the water quality.

Working Principle:

The magnesium rod is primarily composed of magnesium. In a water heater, it comes into contact with water along with the metal inner tank (primarily composed of iron). Because magnesium is electrochemically more active than iron, according to the electrochemical corrosion protection principle of sacrificial anode protecting cathode, the magnesium rod, acting as the anode, preferentially reacts chemically with corrosive substances (such as chloride ions and oxygen ions) in the water, corroding itself and thus protecting the metal inner tank, which acts as the cathode, from corrosion.

Main Functions:
- Anti-corrosion: Absorbs oxygen ions and divalent ions in hot water, reducing dissolved oxygen in the water, slowing corrosion of the metal inside the water tank and extending the life of the water heater.
- Water Softening: Chemically reacts with calcium and magnesium ions in the water, binding them together to form insoluble precipitates, reducing water hardness and minimizing scale formation.
