Simple & Effective C17AM+PTC Serie Thermal Protector for Industrial Electronic Motors
The C17AM+PTC snap-action bimetallic disc is welded to the metal housing and integrally molded with the terminals. The housing is covered by a base plate with a heated resistor welded to it to enhance the device's current sensitivity. A variety of standard terminal configurations and carefully selected materials make the product easy to operate and install. Custom terminal configurations are available. Wires with connectors easily connect to standard crimp terminals.
The C17AM+PTC is simple and effective. Its operation depends on the current flowing through the device and the ambient temperature. When the disc reaches a preset temperature, the circuit is disconnected. Due to the heating of the PTC, the temperature of the bimetallic disc does not drop to the closing temperature. The contacts remain open until the user turns off the device, ensuring enhanced safety. After the device is turned off and the entire device temperature drops to a safe level, the contacts automatically reset.
The bimetallic disc is sensitive to both temperature and current during overload conditions. In the event of a stall, the combination of the heated resistor and bimetallic disc provides extremely precise tripping time, providing dual temperature and current protection.
