Working Principle:

The KSD9700 series thermal protector uses a bimetallic strip as its temperature sensing element. During normal operation, the bimetallic strip is in a free state, and the contacts remain closed or open. When the temperature rises to the operating temperature, the bimetallic strip generates internal stress due to heat, causing it to actuate rapidly, opening or closing the contacts, thereby cutting off or connecting the circuit and achieving thermal protection. When the temperature drops to the reset temperature, the contacts automatically close or open, and the appliance returns to normal operation.

Applications: 
Widely used in household appliances and electrical equipment, such as washing machine motors, air conditioner fan motors, transformers, ballasts, electric heating appliances, battery chargers, office automation equipment, etc., effectively preventing these devices from being damaged due to overheating.

Material Properties	Generally a metal shell, possessing good thermal conductivity and mechanical strength, it can quickly transfer heat and accurately sense temperature changes, suitable for applications requiring high reliability and high-temperature resistance. However, the metal shell is a live conductor when energized, requiring the use of a matching high-temperature insulating sleeve during installation.	Typically made of PBT high-temperature resistant plastic. It is lightweight, low-cost, and has good insulation properties, suitable for applications sensitive to weight and with strict cost control. However, the thermal conductivity of plastic shells is relatively poor, which may affect the speed of temperature sensing.	Ceramic material has excellent high-temperature resistance and insulation properties, enabling stable operation at higher temperatures. Its insulation performance is superior to plastic and iron shells, making it suitable for special applications with extremely high insulation and high-temperature resistance requirements. However, ceramic shells are relatively expensive and more brittle, requiring protection from impacts during installation and use.
Dimensions	Standard dimensions are 20mm × 7.4mm × 3.8mm.	Available dimensions include 18.5mm × 7mm × 3.5mm and 20mm × 7.6mm × 4mm.	Typically 20mm × 8.5mm × 5mm.
Temperature Range	The operating temperature range for metal shell thermal protectors is generally 50-160℃.	The operating temperature range for plastic shell thermal protectors is generally 50-130℃.	Due to their superior high-temperature resistance, ceramic shell thermal protectors may have a wider operating temperature range, but the specific range depends on the product specifications.
