This is an NTC temperature sensor for the lid of a household appliance (such as a rice cooker/electric pressure cooker), a core component for precise temperature control in kitchen appliances.

Working Principle:

The core component is an NTC thermistor (negative temperature coefficient thermistor).

When the sensor probe contacts the object being measured (such as the lid/inner pot of a rice cooker), temperature changes cause the NTC's resistance to decrease non-linearly (the higher the temperature, the lower the resistance). This resistance signal is transmitted through wires to the appliance's control board, where it is converted into a voltage signal to control the heating module's start/stop/power, achieving precise temperature control (such as temperature adjustment during the "water absorption - boiling - simmering" stages of rice cooking).

Main Applications:

- Rice Cookers/Electric Pressure Cookers: Monitor the temperature of the top cover/inner pot, controlling the temperature during cooking, keeping warm, etc. (e.g., maintaining 100℃ during boiling, detecting 103℃~105℃ to determine if the rice is cooked during the simmering stage);

- Ovens/Air Fryers: Assist in controlling the temperature inside the cavity, achieving temperature adjustment for different cooking modes;

- Water Heaters: Some models are used to monitor the outlet water temperature to prevent overheating.
