The Electric Water Heater Capillary Thermostat is a critical component used to control water temperature in electric water heaters.

Operating Principle: It typically utilizes a bimetallic strip or hydraulic expansion mechanism. For example, as the temperature rises, the bimetallic strip deforms. When the set temperature is reached, the deformation causes the contacts to open, shutting off the heating circuit and stopping heating. When the temperature drops, the bimetallic strip returns to its original shape, the contacts reclose, and the heating circuit resumes, repeating the cycle to automatically control the water temperature. Furthermore, these thermostats often incorporate independent over-temperature protection mechanisms, such as an ECO temperature limit switch. If the temperature detects an abnormally high temperature (e.g., 95°C), the ECO will permanently open the contacts, requiring a manual reset button to restore the temperature.
